Rural Roads publishes human interest stories pertinent to National Rural Health Association members and the rural health care field in general. It includes articles on innovative rural health programs, leaders in the field of rural health, national policy and legislation, case studies and information on resources, meetings and NRHA members. The magazine is available as a member benefit, on the NRHA Web site and by subscription.

Rural Roads serves as a networking tool to
provide information to, and the coordination of, a network of rural health advocates who work in rural health or a related field.

Rural Roads is distributed to a wide range of rural health professionals across the nation. This group includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse midwives, state and national policy makers, hospital and clinic administrators and their staffs, educators, researchers, state health officials and others interested in rural health care.

Bleed plate size: 8 3/4" x 11 1/4".
This includes 1/8" trim from all sides.
Keep live matter 1/4" from page edge.

Software Formats:

QuarkXPress, Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Illustrator (saved as an EPS file); and Adobe Acrobat PDF. (PDF files should be created using the Press Optimized settings and all fonts must be embedded). All formats must include fonts and graphic files.

Fonts:

All printer and screen fonts must be included, even fonts embedded in art files, logos, etc. PC or Macintosh versions of Adobe Postscript fonts must be used.

Graphic Information:

Line art, half-tones and color figures should be saved in CMYK format. Scans should conform to the following:

Color figures - 300 dpi
Grayscale images - 300-450 dpi
Line art - 1200 dpi

We accept TIFF or EPS from PC or Macintosh platforms.

Please note, nearly all images that are downloaded from the Internet, or are in JPEG or GIF format, will not be acceptable for the printing process. Word documents (unless text only) and Publisher files are also not accepted for advertising placements.

File submission:

In addition to electronic files, we also accept CD-Rom or 100MB Zip disk. A print out of the file must be included that lists the file name(s), size and kind of file; a list of graphics included and the input resolution of scanned images; and what compression format was used, if the files were compressed. Please include the name of the publication in which the ad is to appear in and a sample of the ad.

Cover and preferred position rates

Premium ad spaces are sold on a non-cancelable basis only. Cover positions will be billed an additional 50 percent. Please contact the NRHA at kimw@nrhasc.com for availability and pricing.

Payment policy

Advertisements are billed following each printing. Two tear sheets accompany each billing. Payment is due 30 days after receipt of invoice. Agency discount is 15 percent.
