2009 CAH Conference Call for Presentations
The NRHA is soliciting session proposals for the 2009 Critical Access Hospital Conference, to be held Oct. 7-9, 2009 in Portland, OR. This is an opportunity to share effective practices, policies and information and provide your colleagues with insights and best practices addressing many of the access, quality and patient safety issues confronted by CAHs in rural areas. Please consider contributing a session! Entry deadline is January 9, 2009.
For the 2009 CAH Conference, our CAH members have expressed a particular interest in the following topics. However, this list is not exhaustive - please feel free to submit a session proposal on any topic you think will be of value to CAH managment.
- Quality and Patient Safety Infrastructure Development
- Innovations and Best Practices in Employee Loyalty and/or Patient Satisfaction (HCHAPS)
- Hospital Governance Innovations: Theories and/or Best Practices
- Organizational Transformation: Theories and/or Best Practices
- Leadership and Vision: Mechanics of Making a Difference
- Medical Staff Complexities: Changing the Model for Future
- Characteristics of a Great CAH: Measurement and Models
- Building and Facilities Planning: Latest Trends and Models for Financing the Future of CAH's
- Emergency Preparedness: Tools and Best Practices on State of the Art Emergency Operations Plans
The CAH Conference is an interactive experience designed specifically to meet the needs of four distinct subsets of CAH managers: CAH Board Members, CEO, CFO and CNOs. General sessions at the conference will be broad, in order to appeal to all of these subsets. Breakout sessions can be directed toward one or more type of attendee.
Submissions for presentations should be geared for at least one of the following session types:
- General Sessions: General management or inspirational content suited to an audience that is diverse, including attendees from the Rural Health Clinic Conference on the first afternoon of sessions.
- Breakout Sessions: Emphasis should be placed on breakout sessions that stress best practices from those actually working in or with a CAH or group of CAH's in the areas of Boards, Executive, Financial and Clinical matters. Attendees at previous meetings have expressed high satisfaction with sessions that provide tools that can be taken back and used upon return to their CAH.
The CAH Conference is consistently one of the NRHA's highest-ranked conferences. Drawing approximately 500 attendees, this conference provides an opportunity for close, one-on-one networking and interactive learning. Share your story today!
